The K-12 Digital Ceramic Exhibition showcases and celebrates the diversity and excellence of student work in the medium of ceramics in Schools and Art Centres in British Columbia.
K-12 Ceramic Exhibition
This will be the fourth K-12 Digital Ceramic Exhibition sponsored by the Canadian Clay Symposium. This year the Symposium features a digital show of student works on large screens.
The Symposium Committee feels the importance of fostering the love of clay with school aged learners. There is a unique opportunity to share work, celebrate innovation and appreciate the contributions of fresh hands and minds in our clay community.
As for the K-12 portion of the event, this theme defines the attitude of students all the time. They are mostly fearless, noting a Pinterest bowl or serving dish that catches their eye and just launching into the journey of making. Or there's a special event and they are determined to create a pot for that will be treasured, and so they launch into the idea. They find out quicker than most how hard it can be, but the adventure is so magical. And when a student starts with curiosity and conviction, the journey towards capable is awesome. And the confidence that builds plays to our theme beautifully.
To this end, we have the digital show, for which educators can submit digital photos of pieces made by their students. These will be part of a digital slideshow on large screens in the Shadbolt Atrium during the symposium.
If you wish to submit images for the event on March 21, 2026 at the Shadbolt, please send images (300 dpi) to k12.canadianclay@gmail.com
